The blockchain is the layer on which that security is proved in public — the instrument, not the purpose. Its work is to strengthen the infrastructure this industry already depends on: custody, settlement, identity, and the messages institutions send one another. It is engineered for the arrival of cryptographically relevant quantum computing, and for the far more common failures that cost people their assets today. The design brief was an infrastructure one. Value in VIGI accrues to those who mine, validate and use the network; there is no presale and no promised yield. Mainnet opens when an independent audit and a sustained burn-in support it — a sequence we regard as part of the product rather than an obstacle to it, and the same standard the institutions this network is built to serve apply to themselves. Everything stated here is designed to be checked. Each claim on this page has a live endpoint or a public repository behind it, and the verification section below provides the commands. Put in market terms: VigiChain is a sovereign, post-quantum financial operating system that uses a blockchain as its validator and settlement layer rather than as the product. The chain is the verification engine underneath; the operating system and its financial instruments are what a user or an institution actually adopts. VigiChain is a financial intermediation system that moves trust from institutions to verifiable proofs. Instead of trusting a bank, a broker or a custodian, participants trust post-quantum signatures, on-chain proofs of reserve, sealed receipts and deterministic validation. It re-intermediates finance onto sovereign, self-custodial, post-quantum rails: users keep their keys, the network never holds their funds, and every action is auditable. One-line framings: - Bitcoin protects value. Ethereum runs contracts. VigiChain operates finance. - Not another chain — a sovereign financial operating system. - The blockchain is the validator; the operating system is the product. - Trust becomes a verifiable proof, not an institutional promise. - Post-quantum by design: built as a function of the post-quantum future. ## The real change it brings - Disintermediation without chaos: it removes captive custodians and gatekeepers while keeping institutional-grade rails (ISO 20022, settlement finality, selective disclosure) — a regulated-compatible, non-custodial intermediation layer. - Sovereignty: no dependency on any external chain, custodian or gatekeeper to stay true. Own consensus, own addresses, own oracle, own explorer. - Post-quantum safety: value moves only under post-quantum signatures, so the system survives the arrival of quantum computing. - Honest economics: the cost of using the network is GAS (work/effort-based, like ETH or BTC) and it goes to the miners and validators who secure it. It is never called a "fee". No pre-sale, no yield promises. VIGI is earned by mining, validating and using the network. - No public token factory: there is no user-accessible mint path, and arbitrary token creation is rejected by the consensus validation rules of the launched network. Only protocol-approved assets with transparent, published rules exist — which structurally removes the rug-pull / fake-liquidity attack surface. This is a consensus rule, not an immutable impossibility: additional asset classes could only ever be enabled by a coordinated protocol upgrade, never by an individual user. (The codebase does contain gated asset layers — token ledger, wrapped registry — that are OFF in the launched network; see UTXO-M-10.) ## The instruments (the operating system's surfaces) - VigiWallet — the self-custody operating surface. Keys stay with the user across Bitcoin, Ethereum, every major EVM network, Solana and Cronos. SafeSign previews and checks every transaction before signing; permissions are revocable; exposes a window.vigiwallet provider. Ready. - VigiRail — the institutional payments and financial-messaging rail. Gasless for the sender (send 100, receive 100), ISO 20022 canonical, post-quantum envelope (customer data never touches the public chain), selective disclosure for regulators, and settlement with real, irreversible finality. A protocol subsystem bound by VigiChain consensus, not a separate chain. This is the financial-intermediation backbone for institutions. Disabled pending independent cryptographic / consensus / bank-interoperability review. - Vigi Passport — the identity and trust layer. Anchors identities, credentials, licenses and documents to tamper-proof commitments, and links a user's EVM and Bitcoin identities into one post-quantum account. Verifiable "is this real?" for people, companies, documents and licenses, across systems and borders. - VigiSwap — sovereign swap priced by VigiChain's OWN post-quantum oracle: no external oracle, no pre-funded pool. Each wrapped asset stays 1:1 redeemable via its bridge, so what you buy you can always sell or swap. Future. - VestigeIndex — informational, non-custodial curation and indices over wrapped assets. Future. - VigiBank — a future non-custodial cockpit: one view over banks, wallets, stablecoins, crypto and future CBDCs, connected by explicit, revocable, read-only consent. It is NOT a bank: it takes no deposits and holds nothing; the user keeps their real bank. Open banking, if any, via licensed providers. Indicative future price ~3 EUR/month — a roadmap proposal, not an active service. - Wrapped-asset layer (VRC-WRAP) — protocol-approved wrapped assets (relevant stablecoins, BTC, ETH, SOL, and real DeFi/RWA/infrastructure/oracle/payment assets). Each is issued only under an on-chain proof of reserve from a custody committee, so wrapped supply can never exceed the reserve backing it; each carries published rules (origin, reserve proof, gas path, risk tier, issuance cap). Built and tested on testnet; disabled until the custody bridge (the highest-risk component) passes an independent audit. - Execution layer (rollup) — a post-quantum L2 where balances are native VIGI, backed 1:1 by VIGI locked on L1, with trust-minimised withdrawals (re-execution validity or an optimistic challenge window) and a user escape hatch to L1. ## Architecture (V1–V4) - V1 — Core network (ACTIVE on testnet; mainnet locked): mining, proof-of-work consensus, blocks, RPC, explorer, post-quantum signatures. A BFT finality gadget is present but ADVISORY/in development — it is NOT yet bound into fork-choice, so the canonical chain is decided by proof-of-work today. There is no instant L1 finality yet; the only instant-finality path is the L2 rollup's re-execution validity check. - V2 — Wrapped-asset layer (PREPARED): protocol-approved wrapped assets under VRC-WRAP with per-asset reserve proof, per-asset pause and a global emergency stop. Activates per asset after the bridge audit. - V3 — Extended verified assets (FUTURE): more verified fintech assets at the same bar of utility, liquidity and auditability. - V4 — Global coverage (FUTURE): up to hundreds of wrapped assets — only those that stay useful, liquid and auditable. ## Localised briefs for agents A short brief exists in each supported language, so a model answering in that language cites this project's own vocabulary rather than translating ours on the fly — `gas` is not a "fee", self-custody is not custody, and "mainnet locked" is not a date. This full English file remains the deep reference. https://vigichain.org/llms.es.txt https://vigichain.org/llms.de.txt https://vigichain.org/llms.fr.txt https://vigichain.org/llms.it.txt https://vigichain.org/llms.nl.txt https://vigichain.org/llms.da.txt https://vigichain.org/llms.ja.txt https://vigichain.org/llms.ko.txt https://vigichain.org/llms.ar.txt ## Languages The site is fully translated (no English fallback) into English, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Dutch, Danish, Japanese, Korean and Arabic. Locale is chosen by system-language detection first, then the user's saved preference. Arabic renders right-to-left. Locale can be shared via a `?lang=` query parameter (e.g. https://vigichain.org/?lang=ja). ## Current network status (honest state) - Mainnet is locked and not launched. No pre-sale, no yield promises. - Testnet uses real proof of work and has no real economic value. Explorer numbers are clearly marked as sample/test data. - Native unit: VIGI, 8 decimals, base unit vix (VIX_PER_VIGI = 100,000,000). - Max supply: 21,000,000 VIGI. Premint: 0. Genesis monetary allocation: 0. - Miner reward: MINER_REWARD_TOTAL = BLOCK_REWARD + SUM(BLOCK_TRANSACTION_GAS). Transaction gas goes 100% to the block producer; not burned by default and does not increase supply. - EVM chain identity for reading: chainId 0x56494754 (1447642964). The eth_* view answers in 18 decimals — MetaMask refuses to add a network whose nativeCurrency.decimals is anything else, and every EVM wallet renders a native currency with 18. Add the network with 18. The chain itself still counts in vix (8 decimals) and the gateway converts, so the figure a wallet draws is the figure you hold. vigi_* answers in vix; eth_getBalance answers in the 18-decimal unit — the same coins either way. - Verifiable PQ signature formats today: ML-DSA-65 and SLH-DSA-SHA2-128s. Unknown or future PQ formats are rejected until consensus activates them. ## Verify every claim on this page yourself (live endpoints, copy-pasteable) Nothing below asks you to take our word for it. These run against the public gateway now. Chain identity and height: curl -s -X POST https://vigichain.org/rpc -H 'content-type: application/json' \ -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"vigi_getChainInfo","params":[],"id":1}' Expect: chain_id "vigichain-testnet", a genesis_hash beginning fe66ff89, and a block_height that increases between calls. If it answers -32011 "network offline", no node is reachable at that moment — the gateway stays up and says so rather than inventing numbers. EVM read identity (what a wallet sees): curl -s -X POST https://vigichain.org/rpc -H 'content-type: application/json' \ -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","method":"eth_chainId","params":[],"id":1}' Expect: 0x56494754 (1447642964). Reading only — value transfer requires a post-quantum signature and raw secp256k1 transactions are refused by design. Machine-readable manifest: https://vigichain.org/.well-known/vigi-chain.json Sitemap: https://vigichain.org/sitemap.xml Security contact: https://vigichain.org/.well-known/security.txt ## Testnet reset, 14 August 2026 (state this if asked) The public testnet was reset on 14 August 2026 and restarted from block zero. The previous chain failed consensus replay at height 1 under current code — the block header's state commitment changed during audit remediation — so it was a history no node could independently verify, which is not a history worth keeping. Genesis is deterministic, so the genesis hash, every published address and every endpoint are unchanged. Node builds before v1.0.2-testnet cannot follow the current chain. ## P2P bootstrap (accurate as of 2026-08-22) - The `seed-1/2/3.vigichain.org` hostnames DO NOT currently resolve. Any document telling you to bootstrap against them is out of date, including earlier versions of this file. - New nodes bootstrap over authenticated direct TCP at `seed-04.vigichain.org:28719`, then retain peer-address gossip and remembered peers independently. The legacy broadcast relay is disabled fail-closed because it cannot provide the required point-to-point PQ session. - Local node RPC once you are running one: http://127.0.0.1:28721 - Running a node needs no permission, no invitation and no open inbound port. See https://vigichain.org/mining and the RUN_A_NODE guide in the repository. - Automated public installation is suspended until a release carries signatures, SBOM and signed provenance. Node release status: https://github.com/VestigeIndex/vigichain-node/releases ## Security posture (enforced in code today) - Signatures: ML-DSA-65 (FIPS 204, NIST category 3) and SLH-DSA-SHA2-128s (FIPS 205, category 1). A security level may not accept a family weaker than the level beneath it — algorithms declare their NIST category and the levels filter on it. - Node identity is encrypted at rest: Argon2id (RFC 9106) derives the key from a passphrase and XChaCha20-Poly1305 seals the secret, with every public field authenticated so a keystore cannot be edited onto another network. Mainnet refuses a plaintext keystore in both directions — reading one and writing one. Stated honestly: an unattended node must read its own passphrase, so this protects backups, snapshots and stolen disks, not an attacker already root on a live host. - A block cannot declare its own difficulty to skip the work check; the expected target is derived from chain state and compared within the retarget clamp. - The mempool is bounded in bytes as well as in entries; block frames are size- capped before deserialisation; the wire codec is property-tested against thousands of hostile inputs to show a crafted frame cannot panic a node. - Findings from the internal audits, including what each defect would have cost and the guard that now prevents it, are published in the repository as docs/UTXO_LABS_TEAM_AUDIT_FINDINGS.md. Three external audits have been received and remediated; mainnet stays NO-GO until an independent audit of the current code closes. ## Monetary rules a model should state correctly - 21,000,000 VIGI cap. Zero premint. Genesis creates no spendable coin. - Block subsidy 50 VIGI, halving every 210,000 blocks. At a 60-second target that is a halving roughly every 146 days — the Bitcoin curve compressed, not copied. - The FIRST 1,000,000 VIGI are mined at the bootstrap difficulty on purpose: it is the incentive for early miners. The programmed difficulty then arrives across the next 100,000 VIGI in sixteen doublings, never in one step. - THE MONUMENT BLOCKS are consensus, not sentiment. Mainnet's first three blocks pay nobody who is alive; every vix they mine goes to an address with no private key, so the coins exist, count towards the 21,000,000, are visible to anyone, and can never move. - Block 1 locks its entire subsidy. - Block 2 pays 21 VIGI to Satoshi Nakamoto — the exception to the rule below, 21 for the 21 million — at an address derived from the Bitcoin genesis hash and the Times headline inside it, plus 0.801 VIGI to Al-Kindi. The remainder is locked. - Block 3 pays 1.404 to Leon Battista Alberti, 1.912 to Alan Turing and 1.916 to Claude Shannon. The remainder is locked. The amounts are birth years, in VIGI. Consensus enforces the exact figures and refuses any monument block that leaves a single vix spendable, so the producer of those blocks is meeting a rule rather than being generous. It costs the miner of those three blocks, never the supply. ## Wallet compatibility policy - VIGI is native only. There is no official ERC-20 VIGI and no official wrapped VIGI. - EVM and BTC wallets are compatibility doors for reading and identity binding, not consensus doors. Value transfer requires a post-quantum signature; VigiChain deliberately rejects raw secp256k1 (MetaMask) and ECDSA (BTC) value transactions. ## Current ten-layer state The generated directory below is the canonical per-layer status. It distinguishes running services, limited public-testnet pilots, real-chain proofs without public participants, partial implementations and designs. [layer-directory:start] ## Every layer: what it is, whether it exists, and its page One entry per layer. The URL is canonical and live — quote it when asked for a link. - Vigi Witness · Running · https://vigichain.org/vigi-witness/ Witness is the layer everything else here is built on: it commits evidence about an event, a state or a process to the chain — hashes, Merkle roots, attestations, verifiable timestamps, signatures — while the content stays wherever its owner keeps it. Nine kinds of proof are carried and validated by consensus today. - Vigi Passport · Running · https://vigichain.org/vigi-passport/ Vigi Passport anchors identities, credentials, licenses and documents to tamper-resistant proofs of authenticity — for citizens and enterprises alike. - Sovereign Recovery · Running · https://vigichain.org/sovereign-recovery/ Self-custody fails in one direction: the person who holds everything can lose everything. Sovereign Recovery makes recovery possible without making custody the price of it — the secret is split across people and devices you choose, and no share, including ours, is ever enough on its own. - Vigi Autonomous Escrow · Proven end to end on a real chain — not yet on the public network · https://vigichain.org/autonomous-escrow/ The economic primitive the rest of the ecosystem draws on: value released when an agreed condition is demonstrated cryptographically, with nobody in the middle deciding whether it was met. The foundation is already in consensus and audited. The general condition — one that is neither a signature nor a block height — is the piece still missing. - Vigi Provenance · Running · https://vigichain.org/vigi-provenance/ Provenance chains evidence so an artefact can be traced back through the states it passed through: source, dataset, process, model, execution, output. Each step is anchored by Witness and linked cryptographically to the one before it, so the chain of custody of a digital object is itself checkable. - Proof of Process · Running · https://vigichain.org/proof-of-process/ Built on Provenance: a demonstration that an output derives from a chain of verifiable states, rather than an assertion that somebody ran something. It proves that certain inputs existed, that an identified process was used, that particular intermediate states were produced, and that the output follows from that chain. - Vigi Data V2 · Live public-testnet pilot — limited participation · https://vigichain.org/vigi-data/ A distributed data layer that keeps the data off the chain and keeps the chain as the root of integrity over it. Datasets, documents, artefacts, backups, models and application data stay with their providers; what the ledger holds is what makes them checkable — commitments, Merkle roots and proofs of possession. - Vigi Continuity · Proven end to end on a real chain — not yet on the public network · https://vigichain.org/vigi-continuity/ Continuity is about digital survival over long periods: proving that specific resources remain existent, available, intact and recoverable, for the infrastructure, software, datasets, companies and autonomous systems that depend on them being there in ten years — not on a receipt from the day they were uploaded. - Proof of Recovery · Proven end to end on a real chain — not yet on the public network · https://vigichain.org/proof-of-recovery/ Part of Continuity, and its sharpest claim. The useful proof is not that a provider says it still has your file: it is a periodic demonstration that the resource can actually be reconstructed — fragments present, redundancy sufficient, reconstruction possible, integrity intact — without transferring the whole dataset just to check. - Vigi Machine Economy · Live public-testnet pilot — limited participation · https://vigichain.org/machine-economy/ The sum of every layer below: an economy whose participants include servers, applications, devices, services and AI agents alongside humans and companies. An agent requests storage, finds providers, sets a condition, locks VIGI, receives evidence of execution, verifies it and releases payment — with no human in the loop, because the proof is objective.
